What’s a girl to do about that itchy, speck? You know, that one person that never leaves your thoughts or your heart like a nagging itch that you must scratch. How do they go away? Its like they are always there haunting your happy memories, that movie that plays repeatedly in your head of the good times spent that are probably magnified beyond their worth and significance.
As hard as we try to delete, defriend, and detach ourselves the bondage is still there, the bite mark where they took a little piece of us is still visible, reminding us of our wasted love, tears, and energy. As much as we feel this intense, gut-wrenching, heart-breaking pain it seems like they are quite the opposite; immensely indifferent so nonchalant, so careless. How can they be so careless when we are so careful? With what we say, with how we look, and how we act. They never forgive; it only takes one wrong move, one scream, one miscalculated step and we are branded as crazy, jealous, mean and cold. Yet they get never-ending chances, a life time supply of get out of jail free cards. A phrase is all it takes and we fall back in again, and the bite gets bigger and more swollen than before. And when we think we’ve had enough, and we leave the bite alone, and the scar kinda starts to fade away, it just starts itching again. But the only consolation lies in the thought that one day these painful, itchy specks will be cast out and they will drown in the sea of our indifference. And will never break through the walls of our numb state of happiness.
